Good afternoon, everyone! Just a quick update since we have a number of new participants this season! Right now, the weather forecast is calling for rain to be in the area around the start times of our first game.
Mother Nature has burned us before, however, with a forecast of rain early in the day and then the day turns out sunny and bright all morning with rain moving in well after our games would have completed.
Given this, this is generally how our thought process works when it comes to weather issues:
If there is rain in the general vicinity of the field and it looks like it will continue past our starting time, we would err on the side of caution and cancel all of our games. We will send out an email and an SMS message letting everyone know before Game 1 was set to begin.
However, if there is no rain and the forecast is inconclusive as to when the rain may arrive or the radar looks clear around us, we will begin Game 1 at our normal starting time of 9:45am and, if lightning or rain (or both..) occur anytime during Game 1 we will cancel the remaining games for the day.
I am hoping that the forecast has its timing wrong and we will get our Opening Day game in before any precipitation is set to move in but, the forecast seems similar on a number of the 6 different applications and websites we consult for forecasts.
As always, if there is any question, please reach out to me via text (since it may be difficult to answer multiple calls at once, but I can send numerous texts near simultaneously) if you have any questions.
You can reach me at 770 510 9302.
We hope to see everyone tomorrow and hope Mother Nature holds out the rain so we can get in our opening day game!
Thank you,
